From the Family Portrait series

I remember the words of the American photographer David Alan Harvey when he said that he needed to see himself in the mirror of the story unfolding before his eyes, trying to find, see elements he could relate to.

This couple is very close to my heart; they are my Sister María Clara and her husband Alejandro. These photos, perhaps a bit indiscreet, are a window to their intimacy and of course to mine.

The photos where made with my smart phone camera during our video chat encounters back in 2010. Now we use WhatsApp and talk about our kids, parenting and the simple little pleasures of life. I love them dearly.

De la serie "Retratos de familia”

Recuerdo las palabras del fotógrafo estadounidense David Alan Harvey, cuando decía que tenía que mirarse en el espejo de la historia que se desarrollaba ante sus ojos tratando de encontrar algún elemento con el que pudiera relacionarse.

Esta pareja es muy cercana a mis afectos, como quiera que son mi hermana María Clara y su esposo Alejandro; estas fotografías, quizá indiscretas, son una ventana a su intimidad y claro, a la mía.

Las fotos fueron hechas con la cámara de mi teléfono inteligente durante nuestros encuentros por video chat en 2010; hoy usamos WhatsApp para hablar de nuestros hijos, de la paternidad y de los pequeños dulces placeres de la vida. Los amo profundamente.
